A.B.I.D.E. Soul Care
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:4-5
A.B.I.D.E Soul Care defined:
A – apply Scripture. It’s not enough to just know what God Word says, we must “do” what God’s Word says. (James 1:22)
B -biblically. There are lots of sources of knowledge in the world today. The Bible is the only source of truth, against which all other wisdom must be measured. (John 17:17)
I – instructive. The Bible instructs us how to think, feel and act so that we honor and glorify God alone. We are accountable to Him for how we steward our lives. (2 Peter 1:3)
D – discipleship. We are to grow more and more into the likeness of Jesus Christ by being a student of God’s Word and knowing how to heed its instruction. (Ephesians 4:15)
E -encouragement. We all need others to help strengthen, comfort, and walk alongside us as we pursue Jesus Christ in our lives. (Hebrews 3:13)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
